🇸🇬 Agarwood Bracelet Indonesia Malinau (Wild)

Red Oil Grade | Soft Silk Burl Grain | 90% Sinking

12mm | 12.9g.

What I really like about this bracelet is not just the colour, but the natural structure found on every single bead.

When you look closely at the photos, you can see fine, natural and irregular wood fibres across the surface. The darker oil lines follow the grain of the wood naturally. Some look like layers of fine silk, while others form beautiful swirling and burl-like patterns. No two beads look exactly the same, and that is part of the beauty of natural wild agarwood.

A few of the beads are especially interesting. You can clearly see the darker resinous areas blending naturally with the lighter brown wood fibres. It is not simply dark in colour, and it does not look artificially uniform. Instead, you can see the natural relationship between the wood, grain and resin.

I personally like the surface appearance very much.

It is not shiny like something coated with lacquer. The shine is softer, warmer and more natural, giving the beads a very lively and organic appearance.

This is also the kind of bracelet that becomes more interesting the longer you look at it. When viewed from different angles and under different lighting, the oil lines, wood fibres and burl patterns can show slightly different details.

When choosing wild agarwood, I have always felt that understanding the natural structure is more important than simply looking at how dark the colour is.

Take a closer look at the surface of these beads.

The natural sheen, resin and wood fibres should appear to exist together in a balanced and harmonious way.

🔺A small reminder when looking at agarwood beads:

If the resin appears unusually dry, flat or lifeless, or if the colour shows an unnatural greenish-grey tone, it is worth taking a closer look and being more careful. At the same time, colour alone should never be used to decide whether agarwood is genuine or not. A proper assessment should consider the wood structure, resin distribution, grain pattern, aroma and the overall condition of the actual piece.
